The 4th Annual General Meeting of the Cashew Processors Association of Tanzania was successfully held, bringing together the association’s leadership and members both large and small-scale from the regions of Pwani, Lindi, and Mtwara.
The meeting, held on April 20, 2026, at Tiffany Diamond Hotel in Mtwara, continued to serve as an important platform for discussing the development of the cashew processing sector in the country and for setting strategies to enhance competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
During the meeting, members had the opportunity to exchange experiences and learn best practices in cashew processing. They also highlighted various challenges facing the sector, including access to reliable markets, availability of capital for production activities, and the adoption of modern technologies.
Furthermore, the association’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to continue collaborating with key stakeholders in the cashew industry, including the Government and its institutions, to ensure that the challenges raised are addressed with sustainable solutions. The leadership also encouraged members to maintain high quality standards in order to increase the value of cashew products and strengthen Tanzania’s position in the global market.
The meeting is expected to inject new momentum into the growth of the cashew processing sector in Tanzania, which plays a vital role in value addition and in improving incomes for all stakeholders across the value chain.
